Here am sharing how to connect your nokia phone as internet modem using nokia ovi suite ,all you need is the latest version of nokia ovi suite and a data cable.

Install nokia ovi suite

now connect your phone using data cable ,ovi suite automatically detects your phone .

in ovi suite go to tools->options .now select “connect to internet” option.

In connection settings select “use manual settings ” then enter your mobile operator’s APN, here am using Tata DoCoMo ,so APN is “TATA.DOCOMO.INTERNET” then click ok.
(you can get it from your mobile network customer care executive) ,

now you can see connect option in left part of ovi suite ,click “connect “ to start browsing .

in the past i have used Airtel internet with Nokia 3110c for one year. in the starting experience was good. but when i have started working on net then i realize i need to have a broadband connection then i have left using it. But I must say its good for personal use. I suggest as a Modem Nokia phones are the best.

I never used these ways to connect my Nokia phone to my laptop for browsing, all I use is Joikuspot app to connect wirelessly over Wi-Fi to browse.
I use this way for a long while one year, since i comfort with this ways to connect.
