Tip #1

Always charge your phone only if  battery stats  ~10 % or less this improves your phone’s battery life ,charging every time when the battery bar goes half or above half  is not a good idea this may eventually decrease your phone’s charge holding capacity.

Tip #2

Always use phone in 2G mode ,using phone in 3G mode will consume more battery than 2G mode – You can force your phone to “always use 2G network” In settings –> mobile network settings –> tick “use only 2G network”

Tip #3

Battery calibration :- If you use custom firmware or roms your phone may have wrong or false battery stats which may eventually shows you wrong battery strength ,You can use clockworkworkmode recovery or battery calibration App (must need a rooted phone) for battery calibration.

Clockworkmode recovery – method

If you already installed clockwork mode recovery then you can use this method

1. full charge your phone (until LED turns to green)
2. reboot into clockwork mode recovery
3. in clockwork mode recovery  go to “advanced” option
4. in advanced options select “wipe battery stats”
5. now turn off your phone and connect to the charger while your phone is off (wait until LED turns to green)
6. Repeat step 4
7. Now turn on your phone ,you have successfully calibrated your android phones battery .

battery calibration App (must need a rooted phone) – method

1. Install battery calibration App from market
2. open battery calibration App

3. connect your phone to the charger and Wait until battery charge reaches 100%

4. press the battery calibration button when it reaches to 100% in the app

5. You have successfully calibrated your android phone battery for maximum battery backup.

Tip #4

Always turn off wi-fi,Bluetooth and GPS if they are not in use.(turning off vibrations can save little bit of your battery charge)

Tip #5

Your phone’s display is another battery juicer ,Always set your phones brightness settings to “Automatic” which eventually helps you to save battery charge. To change brightness settings – go to phone settings –> display->brightness –>  tick “automatic brightness”

Tip #6

widgets- If there are many widgets likes weather ,news ,live feeds etc.. in your home screen then it is  better to remove them as they consume processor usage and memory in background .(do not use live wallpapers ,it’s better to use a static or black ,grey wallpaper)

Tip #7

Enabling data sync and data access (internet) always is not a good idea ,enable data and data sync manually as your needs its crucial tip to save your phone’s battery backup.

Tip #8

Always use a task killer to close apps running in background even though they are not in use they use a small part of phone’s processor and Ram.

Tip #9

Set screen timeout to very short time as possible ,will help you to save great amount of charge .

Tip #10

Find out which process or app drinks most of the charge from your phone’s battery .To view battery usage in your android phone go to phone settings –>about phone –> battery use.

Click on the Facebook chat settings (bottom right corner)

In advanced settings ,select the first option if you want to hide few people from the Facebook chat ,you can type the names of friends you want to remove from the Facebook chat and click save.

Or if you want to visible only to few friends then select the second option which is “Only some friends see you” you can type the names of friends you want to be visible and click save.

Yippee you done it ! now only allowed friends can see you online .

After a long research i found an awesome Linux distribution which is based on Ubuntu called Pinguy OS .What great about the pinguy os is ,its comes  preinstalled with almost all codecs and most used tools like dropbox,Skype,teamviewer,VLC Player,openshot video editor,handbrake (audio and video convertor) etc..

Pinguy os also features a simple and aesthetically pleasing user interface which makes easy to navigate.Another great thing about pinguy os is it is comes preinstalled with wine which is a windows program emulator allows you to run windows applications inside Linux ,i have successfully installed Google talk ,angry birds game. you can even direct execute .exe files (not all applications are compatible) And there is a virtualBox application preinstalled which allows you to install windows inside Linux if needed.

Pinguy OS installation

Unfortunately there is no “install inside windows ” option which is found in Ubuntu distributions that helps users to install Linux inside windows and can easily uninstall if they don’t like it.In pinguy Linux you have to burn the ISO image to the DVD or to the pendrive using Unetbootin tool then you have boot it to install .

anyways that’s not a big problem you can depend on friend for that(don’t try installing if you don’t have any previous experience with formatting and Linux installation).There is a live boot option which allows you to run the pinguy os without installing it to your hard disk.

Final Words

There is no doubt that pinguy os is the best distro for windows users ,if you love Ubuntu then you hug pinguy ! its so easy to use and full fills all your computing needs, i hardly recommends pinguy os for those who want to try out Linux os or use its as a secondary os .keep in mind that Linux is virus free and never hangs or crash,Happy linuxing.

In Windows 7 hibernate option may be  disabled in some desktop pc’s or laptops due to incompatible hardware ,here am sharing a simple step by step tutorial for turn on the hibernate option in windows 7 computers.

Step 1

open command prompt by typing cmd in RUN or in start menu and type this command without quotes “powercfg -h on” then press enter wait for few seconds to execute the command then close the cmd window.

Step 2

open control panel –> in control panel search box (top right corner) type “Edit power plan” –> then select “edit power plan ” from the result .

Step 3

From “edit power plan window” select  “Change advanced power settings”

Step 4

In advanced settings window –> click on  the “Sleep” (+) –> then click on “allow hybrid sleep”  -> settings –> Off.

Step 5

Again In advanced settings window –>click on the Hibernate after (+) –> settings –> set it to zero (0).

then press apply ,Ok.

Now you have successfully enabled hibernate option in your windows 7 computer .

To check ,press on the  “arrow” near shut down button. now you can see the hibernate option.

ICS ROM for ZTE Blade - Screenshots

In my testing i found user interface is more snappier than cm7 and music player is awesome but i had really bad experience with the camera app because it was too flickering (video capture mode is not working at all) but when you press the capture button it takes the photos and another bad thing is the video player is just playing like 2 or 3 frames per second ,too jerky and not watchable at all.

No drop calls or i don’t found any problem with  data connectivity (in 3G AND 2G) all works pretty good .i tried angry birds and fruit ninja both worked flawlessly .Wi-Fi ,Bluetooth ,audio and CPU overclocking everything working fine.

I don’t recommend this rom for daily uses but just to explore the android 4.0 experience for me its was an awesome delight i just loved the interface and icons. this project is improving day by day so you can expect a stable or somewhat a usable version soon at mean time try this and enjoy your ice cream sandwich.

How to fix “input not supported ” problem after Ubuntu or Linux mint installation :-

press enter key to bypass the “input not supported” message and to boot the default Linux os .from Ubuntu software center search for “StartUp-Manager” and install it ,also you can install it by typing this command in terminal

sudo apt-get install startupmanager

after installation you can start it from here System > Administration > Start up Manager.

In display options set resolution to 640×480 and color depth to 24bits . ok that’s it! now close the window and restart your computer .now your “Input not supported” problem got fixed and grub boot loader will display correctly .

Tips:

You can adjust the timeout for default os to boot in “timeout in seconds” option.

if you want to make windows or any other os as default os to boot ,you can change it in “default operating system” option.
